Family Events
We are a family at NCNS and we love to get together to have fun. We coordinate several events throughout the year for both families and parents to enjoy. It gives everyone a chance to connect and get to know one another outside the school environment.
Although it changes year to year, some of the events we have planned for this year include:
Summer Packet Pick-Up Playdate
See old friends or meet new ones while you find out who is in your child’s class. Parents and children are invited to this end of summer play date where you can also pick up your school packet with all the information needed to start the year.
Family Fun Fest
NCNS will host this outdoor family event with games and activities for all. Held out on our big “backyard”, we plan to have a kids DJ, bouncy house, trike races and much, much more. A dinner for the family with grilled child-friendly specialties makes this an event not-to-be missed. Come meet your new class friends and their parents.
Halloween Hoopla
An early evening event where the children and their parents can celebrate the magic of Halloween while having a chance to show off their Halloween costumes at school.
Daddy and Me Sleep-Under
An early evening event in which each class will perform skits from stories or sing songs learned in school. Dads will experience the talent, creativity, fun and cuteness of our darling preschoolers.
NCNS Gala
NCNS started in 1952 and this year is our 60th year as a community nursery school. Please join us on March 3, 2012 for a night of memories, community and help raise funds for our school.
May: Art Night
Our end of the year celebration gives everyone a chance to celebrate the creativity and imagination of all our students. Works of art by each child are on display throughout the school. The evening starts with a picnic on the lawn and ice cream treats will be available.
Fourth of July Parade
Students, siblings, moms and dads all assemble to create the Northbrook Community Nursery School “float”. Decorate your wagon or stroller ensemble in red, white and blue and join us as we throw out candy to the crowd while marching in a real community parade.
