Welcome to Northbrook Community Nursery School!
The Northbrook Community Nursery School (NCNS) is a non-profit, non-denominational pre-school that has been in operation for over 60 years. NCNS provides high quality early childhood education in a warm and nurturing environment. The preschool’s core philosophy is that children learn best through play, and the Creative Curriculum utilized in our programs reflects this core belief. NCNS has always been a very active school with many events for the children and parents creating a strong sense of community.

Northbrook Community Nursery School, through the cooperation of staff, board and parents, is committed to meeting the social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs of each child. The pre school strives to facilitate this development within a nurturing environment that enables each child to realize his or her full potential.
Management & Policies
The Nursery School is managed by a volunteer parent Board of Directors. Our full-time Director, Gail Nemoy supervises the teachers and the day-to-day operations of the school. We are fortunate to have a dedicated, resourceful, well-qualified staff. At NCNS, snacks and drinks are provided each day at a specified snack time. The Director chooses the snacks to be served at the nursery school. All snacks served are free of nuts, nut traces, and nut oils. Birthday celebrations are highlighted with popsicles as a special treat. The staff takes great care in managing all food related allergy concerns in the classroom.
NCNS believes it is important to serve all the children of the community. NCNS does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sex, national origin or disability. All children will be considered for enrollment through our established enrollment process and policies. We urge parents and guardians to discuss any concerns or circumstances regarding their children with the director prior to enrollment.
NCNS is a non-profit corporation, incorporated under Illinois State Law. Our federal tax status is 501(c)(3) – we are exempt from sales tax.
